Sacred Heart Church has "stadium" seating as the priest used to climb an actual pulpit to address the masses. Now the altar is more typical and flat and the people sit only on the floor level as the priest can walk and speak on the altar or directly within the crowd.

Because of this, the upper deck seating has been closed for decades. Since I shoot the First Communions, etc at the church, I was allowed to photograph the ornately painted pillars, that few have seen up close.
